The Procurement Manager plays a central role in delivering value to the business beyond cost savings — including securing the right terms, quality, service levels, and lead times. The role is responsible for driving resilience in the supply base, ensuring reliable and sustainable supply, and managing risk.
As the owner of the procurement strategy for HQ non-people spend, the Procurement Manager prioritizes sourcing initiatives based on the procurement calendar, business needs, and value potential. The role ensures alignment between procurement initiatives and business priorities through strong communication structures, data-driven insights, and proactive supplier and market analysis.
THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT
- Procurement Strategy & Execution
Own and execute the procurement strategy for HQ non-people spend, ensuring alignment with overall company goals. Identify saving opportunities and prioritize initiatives based on the procurement calendar, risk exposure, and value potential. - Value Creation Beyond Savings
Deliver value not only through savings, but by securing optimal contract terms, ensuring quality, improving lead times, and strengthening supplier performance and resilience. - Sourcing Process
Lead and implement the 7-step sourcing process for key categories: - Analyse and validate business needs — challenge requirements where needed
- Assess supply market and identify opportunities and risks
- Define and communicate sourcing strategy
- Lead tenders and negotiations, ensuring competitive and fair outcomes
- Finalize contracts in cooperation with Legal
- Drive implementation with business stakeholders
- Monitor performance and continuous improvement
- Spend Categorization & Analysis
Categorize HQ spend; analyze data using ERP, contract management, and reporting tools to identify trends, opportunities, and compliance gaps. - Resilience & Risk Management
Strengthen resilience of supply base by identifying single-source risks, developing alternative supply options, and working proactively with key suppliers. - Process Improvement (P2P)
Improve purchase-to-payment processes to ensure compliance, efficiency, automation, and timely payments. - Internal Communication & Collaboration
Set up and maintain communication structures to engage business stakeholders, establish needs, and challenge them where appropriate. Work closely with Finance, Legal, and functional owners on priorities, budget, and compliance. - Reporting & Budget Reviews
- Deliver clear, actionable reporting on spend, savings, supplier performance, and compliance.
- Lead monthly procurement and budget review meetings with Finance and HQ functions.
- Supplier & Market Analysis
Relentlessly analyze suppliers and markets to uncover opportunities, mitigate risks, and ensure best-in-class sourcing strategies.
YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience in procurement, preferably managing indirect / HQ categories
- Proven ability to deliver value beyond savings (quality, resilience, service, risk reduction)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — does not take “no” for an answer; digs deep for insight
- Skilled in negotiating, contracting, and supplier relationship management
- Familiar with ERP systems, P2P tools, contract management platforms
- Excellent communicator with ability to build strong internal networks and influence stakeholders
- Results-driven, structured, and hands-on
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
