Purpose of the position
The Parts Purchaser does the operational purchasing of spare parts and manages any deviations in lead times, quality and billing of the supplied parts. The role also includes a high amount of communication as the daily bridge between suppliers and the rest of the organisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Spare parts procurement according to planning parameters (purchasing of material and follow up on confirmed dates and suppliers ability to deliver ( OTIF)
- Proactive identification of the risk of deviations in deliveries and taking corrective and preventive actions
- Driving supplier performance management to improve cooperation/ KPIs - lead time and confirmation accuracy
- Independently conducting meetings with suppliers in order to develop cooperation, relationships and achieve result goals
- Cooperation with the Sourcing department to ensure smooth cooperation with suppliers and to achieve the goal of availability of the right material for customers
- Cooperation with Planners to ensure a clear and transparent material management planning process
- Keeping customer service informed on expected delivery dates on parts with backorders
- Reviewing supplier invoices
- Supplier claims handling
- Support in purchasing master data management
- Development of purchasing processes
- Performing other tasks associated with the role, as assigned by the line manager
What you’ll need to succeed
- Ensure high accuracy of deliveries on the supplier-warehouse line, with particular pressure on orders containing backorders
- Maintain high availability of information on the purchase order process
- Handling deviations in the purchasing and invoicing process
- Academic education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or corresponding knowledge acquired through work experience
- Ability to work independently to complete given tasks and assignments
- Focus on structure and good organisation
- High communication skills
- High sense of urgency and customer centric mind-set
- Ability to focus on details
- Fluent English in speaking and writing
