We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Technology Service Desk/On-Site Support Manager II to join our team. This role is located in Wroclaw - HYBRID.

You will join the VDI Support Team, responsible for delivering and maintaining our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure services that enable secure, scalable, and high-performance desktop experiences for BNY employees globally. Our team embraces collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence to support critical business functions.
Your Role
We are seeking a VMware Subject Matter Expert to provide deep technical expertise and hands-on support for our VDI environment. You will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of VMware-based virtual desktop solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Lead VMware VDI architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting efforts
- Manage and optimize VMware Horizon environments and associated infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VDI with broader IT platforms and services
- Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices for VDI operations
- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and capacity issues
- Support incident management and problem resolution with a client-focused mindset
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technology upgrades
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies, especially VMware
- Strong knowledge of VDI concepts, protocols (PCoIP, Blast), and related infrastructure components
- Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related management tools
- Familiarity with Windows OS deployment and management in virtual environments
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security as they relate to VDI
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactive problem solver with a client-obsessed approach
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python)
- Knowledge of cloud integration with VDI solutions
