Your team
This role is for the Exposure team - this team is responsible for building the systems that monitor and hedge IG's leveraged trading and sending orders on to our DMA/Execution systems. The system consumes real-time data on positions and market data (pricing) to decide how IG should hedge.
Your role in the Team's Success
Your primary responsibility will be to run our Exposure team in Poland. The suite of applications are in C++ and Python. We want someone hands on with C++ and Python to build and create an active and empowered team. There's lots of renovation to do as-well as an existing book of work. The role may require some management of B2B (business-to-business) contractors.
What you'll do
Hands on C++ & Python developer; your code should be clean and using the latest standards
Team management; run the ceromonies, plan and facilitate the teams work and provide status updates on progress
Drive innovation; we want someone who will empower the team and not micromanage them - we want someone who will help the team develop themselves and become invested in the system
Drive renovation; we need someone who will plot a way forward to renovate the systems in a safe manner
What you'll need for this role
Key Qualification Requirements:
Proficient with the latest C++ standards and modern software design practices and principles
Experiance with, or keen to learn, Python as we use it in our Acceptance framework and some apps
Experiance with JIRA, standard Scrum and Kanban practices
Whilst no finance knowledge is required, a keen interest in trading will be a great advantage
Keen stakeholder engagement and a desire to build better!
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail
Track record of driving improvement and operational efficiency
