What You Will Do:
- Lead the technical development of core backend features, from architectural decisions to implementation.
- Build new features from scratch, improve existing code, and ensure it remains clean, scalable, and efficient.
- Contribute to system architecture design, ensuring stability and scalability as the product evolves.
- Act as a technical mentor for other engineers, supporting their growth and driving best practices within the team.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define and deliver solutions that align with business goals.
- Take an active role in system design, scalability, performance improvements, and technical decision-making.
- Balance coding responsibilities with strategic leadership to ensure high-quality, maintainable code across the codebase.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture with a focus on clean code, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
- Hands-on knowledge of our stack: Nest.js, Redis, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Jest, and related tools.
- Solid experience with Node.js and TypeScript as a backend engineer in a product environment
- Deep understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), system architecture, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Experience working with and adoption of AI/ML technologies, particularly in backend implementations.
- A strong track record of leading projects or engineering teams – either formally as a lead or informally as a go-to tech driver.
- A delivery mindset; you believe in shipping early, iterating fast, and continuously improving based on real feedback.
- A passion for building innovative software and contributing to a thriving, AI-enabled, delivery-driven development culture.
- A bias for action, you're comfortable working in short cycles, breaking down big problems, and prioritizing progress over perfection.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication across teams and stakeholders
What we see as a bonus
- Background in SaaS or HR tech products.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD), integration testing, and building resilient software.

Our Hiring Process
- Introduction meeting: A brief chat with our recruiter for us to understand your background better, and for you to learn more about us and the role (approx. 30 minutes).
- Technical Screening: Meet with the hiring team for a technical discussion to assess your experience and skills (approx. 45 minutes).
- Personality & Logic Test: A short assessment to help us understand your problem-solving abilities and cognitive strengths via Alva Labs.
- Technical Interview: A deeper dive into your technical expertise with our team and other tech leaders, and for you to get a feel for our team (approx. 60 minutes).
- Informal team chat: Meet the other from product or other departments and learn more about your future colleagues.
- Informal HR Interview: Before making an offer, we’ll have a final informal chat to answer any last questions and ensure everything feels right on both sides (approx. 30 minutes).
