Description and Requirements
A consultant-level tax role is required to support the local tax manager in managing specific key direct and indirect tax actions focused on tax compliance obligations for MetLife’s Warsaw-based service entity (CIT, VAT, and TP compliance) and wider EMEA tax responsibilities as they may arise. The role requires an understanding of transfer pricing principles to fulfil TP reporting requirements, including the preparation of the Local File and adjustment of the Master File to Polish standards.
The tax consultant is also required to support the team in setting up internal tax processes, documenting them, and executing them. It is necessary to maintain strong relationships with other functions within the organization, particularly accounting and controlling functions.
The role will report to the Polish Tax Manager.
The Opportunity
Success in this role requires a high degree of professionalism and sound judgment. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues in Poland and may be involved in EMEA/Global tax projects, working within a multinational team – e.g., Solvency II, FATCA, CRS, MDR reporting.

Assist the Polish Tax Manager with the tax compliance processes, including:
- Preparation of periodical tax reporting for tax compliance purposes, including tax provisioning, return-to-provision calculations, calculation of VAT liability, TP, and MDR reporting.
- Preparation of the TP Local File and assistance with the Group Master File adjustment to Polish requirements.
- Preparation of local SAF-T (JPK).
- Preparation of tax provisions and related notes, and audit support for annual local financial statement filings for the Polish branch.
- Other ad hoc projects/assistance as required to support the Polish/EMEA/Global tax team.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all relevant team members and internal stakeholders.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Practical tax law and tax accounting knowledge (2+ years’ experience in tax computation (corporate and VAT) taxes).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Basic understanding of FATCA, CRS, MDR principles.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with manager supervision.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, including proficiency in English.
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
- Experience with financial systems and associated software packages would be beneficial to perform the role, e.g., Excel and other web-based tax provisioning and financial reporting tools.
- Professional qualification in accounting or tax (tax advisory license, ACCA/ACA/CIMA or similar) would be beneficial.
