The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.

- Monthly presentation on R&D cost and key KPI development, participation in bi-annual in person meeting, and providing guidance to support strategic R&D decisions
- Lead the Project ONE R&D workstream, including identification of optimization opportunities, development of business cases to evaluate cost savings opportunities, analysis of performance vs plan, and presentation of workstream status to SteerCo and ECMS management
- Develop monthly forecast and analysis/explanations of performance compared to forecast and budget, including monitoring of capital expenditures, FTE, and patent/IP costs
- Provide reporting to R&D management on cost performance, analysis of cost deviations, and guidance on cost improvement opportunities; support creation of new reporting tools to improve transparency and data analytics for R&D cost reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the global R&D organization for costs, FTE, and capital expenditures and manage the R&D capitalization process
- Manage the monthly forecasting process for key financial KPIs, provide reporting and analysis of Hydrogen business financials, and lead the monthly review with business management
- Lead the annual budgeting and mid-term (5-year) outlook process for the business, including assessment of future sales and cost developments, evaluation of opportunities/risks, and potential growth/optimization measures
- Develop and evaluate business plans for strategic decisions/investments and provide financial guidance to business management
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years in finance/controlling roles with preference for business or functional controlling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English (B2/C1)
- Familiar with SAP system
- Experience in visualizing data in Power BI or relevant data visualization software is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate complex business problems, processes, and technical material to diverse audiences
