Key responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive sales of products, systems, and services within the rail infrastructure market in Germany, fully aligned with the ELIP division strategy. Each day, you will work to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets, ensuring sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You will showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and positioning ABB as a trusted partner in the rail industry. By understanding market trends and customer needs, you will contribute to expanding our market share and strengthening our long-term competitiveness.
This role is contributing to the ELIP in Germany. Main stakeholders are wholesale partners and distributors, rail infrastructure operators, EPC contractors, consultants and planners, as well as internal ABB functions such as Product Management, Marketing, Service, and Project Management.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Communicating to the customers about details related to delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions, in line with ABB’s offering and strategy.
- Ensuring efficient marketing activities and communicates value proposition to customers.
- Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market.
- Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supports cash collection and project management activities, when needed.
- Driving sales of products, systems, and services within the rail infrastructure market in Germany, aligned with the ELIP division strategy.
- Achieving qualitative and quantitative sales targets, ensuring order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities and managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to order closure.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with rail infrastructure operators, EPCs, distributors, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Supporting customers with technical and commercial expertise, ensuring ABB is positioned as a trusted partner delivering value-added solutions.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt strategies and secure long-term growth.
Qualifications for the role
- You are highly skilled in working with solution sales methodologies, CRM systems, and value-based selling in the rail infrastructure and electrification market
- You have 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in the rail, infrastructure, or electrical products/systems industry
- Proven track record as a Sales Specialist or Key Account Manager with rail-related products, electrification systems, or cable protection solutions
- You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Marketing and Sales, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent proven experience)
- You are at ease communicating in German and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
