Provides legal advice and recommendations for action to executives, management, and contracts team regarding matters of varying complexity which have or may have a material dollar impact on business activities and operations. Utilizes a knowledge of one or more legal specialties with sound business acumen and knowledge of the business goals and objectives as they relate to the matter at hand. Research legal principles and precedents, consult with outside counsel, draft and execute legal documents, negotiates complex agreements, gather relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods, manages litigation, provide direction to external counsel, other professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in developing solutions to problems presented.
Legal Counsel
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Legal Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant fintech regulations and legal standards. Conduct legal research on regulatory changes and advise the business on potential impacts. Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies
- Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, service agreements, and licensing agreements. Provide legal support for negotiations with third parties. Participates as part of an effective legal team in support of the company, its various operating segments, and its affiliated companies (as assigned from time to time)
- Corporate Governance: Assist with corporate governance matters, including the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, including Resolutions, Powers of attorney, procedures; cooperation with the Management Board and Shareholders; Support board and Supervisory Board meetings, including the preparation of meeting materials and minutes.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation matters. Liaise with external counsel as needed.
- Product Development Support: Advise on legal aspects of product development and marketing.
- Ensure new products and services comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Data Privacy and Security: Advise on data privacy and security matters, including GDPR and other relevant regulations. Support the implementation of data protection policies and procedures.
- General Legal Advice: Provide general legal advice and support to various departments within the company. Assist in special projects as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed law studies, title of Legal Counsel is welcome.
- 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on fintech, financial services, or technology sectors
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong knowledge of fintech regulations, data privacy laws, and commercial contracts.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism and integrity
PERFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous in-house experience in a fintech or financial services company.
- Experience with intellectual property matters.
- Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks and cross-border transactions.
