Cast Iron Foundry Advanced ME Coordinator - Materials
SCOPE AND PURPOSE
To ensure the coordination of scouting, identification activities and development of new manufacturing technologies, aiming at introducing process and materials’ innovations with particular focus to sustainability. The field of activity includes advanced and innovative process control tools, new / innovative materials for each area of the process, as well as new cast iron development
Location: Poland, Foundry in Dąbrowa Górnicza
RESULT AREAS / MAIN ACTIVITIES
1. Process and Process Materials
- Search and scout all the new technology in the field of Cast Iron Foundry Raw materials, with special attention to sustainability.
- Look for innovative solutions in process control, that may include: advanced instrumentation for laboratory or process, new AI driven systems, advanced manufacturing technologies
- Investigate and define predictive tools for the mass production process, by studying them in a controlled laboratory environment
- Contribute and support Manufacturing Engineering Dept in enhancing capabilities of all simulation systems in the company.
2. Cast iron innovation
- Study and characterize at best current materials in order to optimize the designing phase
- Develop new families of cast iron, driven by guidelines demanded by the market
- Cooperate with Research Institute and University in order to maintain a market leader position in the innovation among Cast Iron Foundries.
3. Plant Support & Cross-Site Collaboration
- Cooperate with Plant in the transition of new technologies from Advanced Manufacturing study to active industrialization scale
- Cooperate with all Dept, including Process Development, in order to transfer the new materials to pre-series and mass production launches
Requirements:
- M.E. in foundry engineering with advanced knowledge of materials in automotive
- 3 to 5 years of experience in foundry manufacturing/materials
- Proficiency in English
Working Hours: Flexible working hours (Monday to Friday)
Remote Work: Possibility of partial remote work
