Position Overview
As Diebold Nixdorf transitions to a technology and services-led model, as a Product Manager you will play a key role in advancing the VCP 7 and VCP-Pro 7 software portfolio. These solutions enable next-gen, multivendor ATM experiences independent of ATM architecture. The role focuses on guiding existing customers toward VCP 7 adoption through strategic roadmap planning.
As part of the Core Banking Product Management team, you will drive innovation by translating market needs into product requirements and user stories. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including analysts, architects, developers, and partners, this role helps deliver cutting-edge mobile and consumer-facing payment solutions for global banking clients.
Expertise
- Strong leadership and the ability to work effectively in a matrix managed organization
- Familiarity with consumer facing, physical banking systems and payment applications
- Ability to rapidly assess market requirements to identify gaps and revise tactics to ensure alignment with consumer demand
- Knowledge of competitive landscape of both traditional players and new entrants following the industry next generation blueprint
- General domain understanding of banking world – major players, roles in managing an ATM network (issuer, acquirer, processor)
- Solid understanding and familiarity with modern CX concepts (including, but not limited to UI / UX)
- Support a next generation ATM application (Banking Domain) within Software Product Management by representing business / customer / regulatory needs to the Product Engineering team
- Engage with customers to foster greater input, collaboration, and customer reference
- Translate business needs into product backlog and release plan.
- Provide comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape for your portfolio of products
- Build appropriate business cases to support appropriate levels of investment in future product releases
- Build strong relationships across all involved stakeholders
- Drive effective dependency and product interlock with other banking software teams
- Effective Project Management skills to help communicate, manage, and maintain the backlog
- Contribute to backlog prioritization and occasionally develop user stories, define acceptance criteria and set sprint goals.
- Collaborate with global teams across engineering and product management.
- Act as an effective liaison between engineering, product management and professional services
- Ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality software products.
- Monitor profitability throughout the life cycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field required
- 5+ years of experience as a product manager
- Experience working with large-scale engineering projects, which included cross-functional resources, on time and within budget
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business and technical problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills with a good sense of judgment to prioritize
- Ability to negotiate features/requirements with stakeholders
- Self-starter and ability to work independently
- Able to travel to other DN centers in other countries when necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of banking technology
- Understanding of web frameworks such as Vue.js preferred
- Experience with financial modelling and developing business cases
- Experience supporting new product introduction and market entry for software products
- Experience in one or more areas of product delivery enablement, customer projects, sales and revenue readiness, sales enablement and order to cash processes for software products.
- Experience working in a multi-country international environment
