Pinterest is looking for a methodical and thoughtful Product Designer with a passion for crafting intuitive, consistent and delightful experiences. You’ll partner with the Curation Design team to work on the new Board experience, focusing on areas such as representation, discoverability, landing experience, and beyond.
You have a knack for visual details as much as holistic systems thinking. You’re a problem solver, and your designs reflect your ability to advocate for the user. You’re passionate about our mission, raising the quality bar, and making the basics great.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the design process of your area to clarify open challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Present and align on design direction, advocate for user needs, and identify opportunities to enhance the product experience
- Own all facets of design: interaction, visual, product, prototyping
- Collaborate closely with content designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, and marketing to establish elegantly compliant design solutions
- Collaborate with and manage feedback from stakeholders across the company
- Work alongside engineers throughout the implementation and quality assurance phases
- Collaborate with other teams to turn big ideas into simple, beautiful, and easy to use products
- Develop design concepts that put Pinterest users first, while helping us meet our business goals
- Apply UX best practices and internal guidelines and patterns to drive quality and consistency
- Work on multiple product design projects at once, from early ideation through final execution
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in design, a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven track record envisioning, building, and iterating on digital products in close partnership with product management and engineering
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates outstanding design skills (prototyping is a must) and product thinking informed by qualitative and quantitative insights
- Multidisciplinary designer with demonstrated expertise to integrate visual, interaction, and product design, creating cohesive and impactful user experiences
- Great communication skills with the ability to clearly present and articulate your design decisions and the problems they’re solving
- Attention to detail and a sense of pride and ownership over the quality of the product
- Ability to work within and extend a design system. Experience working in design systems and/or product redesigns is a plus
- Team player with strong collaboration skills and ability bring cross-functional partners along in the journey
- High level of self-awareness with a growth mindset
