The Opportunity:
As a Front-end developer you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing engaging user interfaces that power Astellas’ generative AI platforms and digital transformation initiatives.
Also, in addition to leading front-end development, the role requires proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of backend systems and data processing, ensuring seamless integration between the user interface and data services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Maintain User Interfaces: Build responsive, intuitive web applications using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Backend Integration & Python Support: Collaborate with backend teams to integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs and leverage Python for scripting, data manipulation, and automation tasks.
- Data Processing & Integration: Assist in designing and implementing data flows between front-end applications and backend systems, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Optimize Performance & Accessibility: Ensure applications are optimized for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility while adhering to accessibility best practices.
- Quality Assurance & Debugging: Implement robust testing strategies, debug issues efficiently, and maintain high standards of code quality.
- Mentorship & Continuous Improvement: Mentor junior team members and contribute to refining development workflows and best practices across the full stack.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in front-end development with strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Practical experience with Python and integrating with backend services via RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with data processing and database interactions (SQL/NoSQL) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working on machine learning projects or generative AI applications.
- Proven track record collaborating with data engineers and data scientists on AI-driven initiatives.
- Familiarity with Python libraries for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas) and backend development frameworks.
- Experience with UI/UX design principles and familiarity with design tools.
- Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Background in optimizing web performance and implementing accessibility standard.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent.
Additional information:
- This is a permanent role based in Poland. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum once a week in our Warsaw office in Poland. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
