Why Box needs you:
The Notifications team is building a scalable and reliable Notifications Platform while maintaining our existing system during the migration. We deliver high volumes of notifications through multiple channels, including email, mobile push (iOS and Android), in-app messaging, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about designing and implementing dependable, relevant notification systems. In this role, you will help build the platform that enables other teams at Box to easily create, monitor, and optimize their notifications. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working on critical infrastructure that impacts millions of users, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Attend and engage in weekly stand ups, team meetings, manager 1:1s
- Work collaboratively with other engineers, team members and across teams
- Actively engage in team meetings, building roadmaps, carving technical vision and spreading knowledge across the engineering department
- Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture
- Represent Box Poland internally and externally
- Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise
Who You Are:

- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Have experience in Java and knowledge of software design principles
- Assess, communicate and complete project milestones with manager and team members in a time sensitive manner
- Must speak English proficiently
- Experience in test automation

- Experience working in a product company on customer-facing features
- You act like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions
- Experience in decomposing monolithic application into microservices
- Familiarity with node.js and PHP
