Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Carpenter, you will report to and receive assignments from the Foreman or General Foreman and be responsible for interpreting instructions, planning work activities, and executing construction and maintenance tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Set up work sites, prepare materials, and construct various structures in support of site operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and contribute to overall cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Read and interpret instructions and documentation to plan work activities effectively.
- Move materials and equipment to designated work locations.
- Set up work sites in preparation for construction and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare materials required for carpentry work.
- Utilize hand and power tools to build and erect a variety of structures supporting site construction and maintenance.
- Complete records related to construction activities.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant carpentry experience.
- Must have proficiency in reading and interpreting instructions and documentation.
- Requires experience in setting up work sites and preparing construction materials.
- Must have knowledge of carpentry techniques and practices.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speaking, reading and writing).
- Must be able to work as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to lift, crouch, bend, reach and climb in all weather conditions.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Certification or training in carpentry.
- Familiarity with diverse carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
