Job overview
The Global Process Owner – Order to Cash (GPO - OTC) is responsible for the governance and proactive development and enhancement of an end-to-end process across the enterprise. The GPO must collaborate with sub-process owners, stakeholders and peer process owners to ensure effective and efficient streamlining of process operations and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies. The GPO will ensure continuous improvement of the process for which he/she is responsible. Additionally, the GPO is accountable for ensuring process compliance with all relevant Controls, compliances and company procedures.
Leadership
- Lead the execution of global strategy for end-to-end OTC process, Order management, Invoicing, Cash Collections, Credit and Risk, Cash applications and Dispute resolution including associated policies, ERP optimization and other enabling tools/technologies
- Develop and translate strategy into operational goals, objectives, and process roadmap; identify necessary resources (people and capital); assess opportunities against business objectives and determine creative means to implement new and innovative technical and process-based solutions
- Establish, own and communicate a clear vision for the end-to-end process across the operating model to drive business outcomes and improve cash flow
- Review end-to-end process performance and provide governance for standard process adoption and business demand
- Participate in governance management boards to provide inputs on items such as process scope and service delivery and assist in resolving operational issues
Process Implementation
- Be accountable for and drive process transformation and make key decisions related to the process policies, including target setting, process performance management, and financial management with a focus on reducing process costs, increasing efficiency, and maximizing investment returns
- Drive global adoption of global standard global process as much as possible, with regional and local requirements customization as required. Responsible for creation, review and approvals of documents like process maps, Desktop Procedures and controls. Always keep them updated with any process that takes place time to time
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for an ongoing training methodology and program for the implemented processes, systems, and policies in collaboration with the business, corporate and Business Services
Collaboration & Research
- Collaborate with various functions across the board to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented
- Collaborate with data owners/stewards to align on process and data issues to ensure reporting is accurate and help in analytics and decision making
- Communicate effectively as a spoken person and leader for the end-to-end process and set guidelines to improve cash flow, working capital optimization and reduce cost
- Stay abreast of process trends and leading practices occurring in the marketplace to inform strategic direction and process enhancement
Drive Continuous Improvement of Process
- Develop prioritized pipeline of process improvements; build business cases to quantify cost and value of process opportunities
- Create OTC Process community made up of regional/BU&GBS SMEs to ensure alignment across regions and share common issues and best practice ensuring customer positive experience remains high priority
- Anticipate needs, assess and manage business risk taking; escalate issues that may impact the end-to-end process globally; manage through times of crisis and contingency
Other Responsibilities
- Influence, Drive and Collaborate with Local Finance, Commercial and GBS organizations for a seamless operations and issue resolution
- Point of escalation for GBS SSC for any issues and from Local stakeholders to GBS SSC in OTC tower
- Manage the critical projects to ensure timely delivery to improve efficiency
- Owns the OTC tower transformation within allocated budgets
- Bridge between GBS and Executive leadership for transparency and accountability
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- MBA and/or Bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance
- Min. 10 years of working experience in Order to Cash process areas Order management, Billing, Credit and Risk, Cash Collections, Cash application and Dispute resolution, with global organizations
- Strong hand-on experience with ERPs like Oracle and SAP
- Experience with other automation tools in the industry will be added advantage
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office: Outlook, Power point, Visio, Excel and Word
- A strong understanding of financial accounting processes
- Strong experience in project management, international projects and familiar with innovative thinking concepts
- Experience in handling international networks, ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Capabilities in dealing with new and emerging technologies and solutions
- Strong customer focus, communication and collaboration skills
- Being open minded and assertive to challenge the status quo and defend own opinions and views.
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
- Strong written and oral communication abilities
- Analytical problem-solvers who are able to employ leadership, critical thinking and time management skills to generate valuable/meaningful insights
- Able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
