FAR Expert (FAR France Team)

Job purpose:
We are looking for a FAR Expert to work for one of our key stakeholders – Zurich France. Within the Finance department of Zurich France, you will be part of the Finance Projects team. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with various leaders/process owners/suppliers across Finance to understand accounting and financial reporting challenges/requirements. The various assignments entrusted to you will allow you to discover the insurance business and contribute to Zurich’s transformation.
Key responsibilities:
- Data Manager:
- Define and/or participate in drafting Reporting specifications for France, in collaboration with Global Corporate Europe (Business Requirements),
- Take part in and facilitate releases (new implementations) of the production system impacting the Finance Department,
- Monitor the interfaces between the production system (internal) and the accounting system (SAP, FSCD, FSCM),
- Business Analyst:
- Support the Finance team (management control, accounting team) in analysis during monthly closings,
- Research, analyze, and consolidate relevant information systems within the framework of IFRS17 requirements,
- Provide appropriate expertise for specific studies: audits, portfolio reviews, claims analysis,
- Act as a technical expert in financial analysis, manage process reviews, and implement changes to contribute to the continuous improvement of the service provided to internal and external clients,
- Deploy new tools within Finance and/or within the Group that impact the finance department,
- Reporting:
- Participate in the preparation of various types of financial entries/bookings under IFRS, German GAAP, and Solvency II standards, as well as specific ad hoc reports,
- Produce QRT/NST reports as part of Solvency II,
- Act as an owner of ICFR controls in RACE system.

Candidate’s profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area,
- Knowledge and experience with IFRS,
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting principles,
- Strong analytical skills with ability to summarize and present the results,
- Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills,
- SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel) experience – intermediate to advanced (power tool is a plus),
- English language skills – spoken and written at fluent level (C1),
- Problem solving skills and independent, efficient working methods,
- French language skills is a plus but not mandatory.

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.
This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
