Role Description
IT Director for Data and Analytics will be both strategic and hands-on, with a strong analytics background to drive the company’s data and analytics IT transformation. This role will be responsible for owning the IT data and analytics strategy, developing and data-sharing initiatives, as well as ensuring effective stakeholder management across the organisation, customers, stakeholders and partners.
This role will build and lead the IT Data and Analytics department building capabilities across data architecture and governance, business intelligence, analytics and masterdata governance and management, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
This role will be managing the relationship with our external partners developing our Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (Snowflake).
Key Responsibilities
Data & Analytics Strategy
- Continue to define and execute a data, masterdata and analytics architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Consult with senior leadership and business stakeholders to ensure the data architecture strategy meets organisational needs and drives measurable business impact.
- Foster a data-driven culture, ensuring stakeholders at all levels utilise data and analytics for decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with our external platform partner to ensure that the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform effectively supports organizational needs
Data Governance and Compliance
- In collaboration with business stakeholders to establish and enforce robust data governance policies covering data quality, lineage and security.
- Establish and lead enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, ownership models, and stewardship programs.
- Ensure compliance with data policies and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Drive metadata management, data lineage, and data quality standards across domains.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business teams to manage data risk and ethical use.
Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics
- Support the development of BI, reporting, and analytics capabilities across all business functions using Power BI.
- Provide analytics consulting to business teams, helping them leverage insights to optimize operations and decision-making.
- Ensure the creation of real-time dashboards and self-service analytics in Power BI to empower teams with data insights.
Master Data
- Own and manage the enterprise MDM platform, ensuring accurate and consistent master data architecture governance across key domains.
- In collaboration with business owners to define MDM policies and governance processes
- In collaboration with IT architecture to define data models, integration standards, and architecture governance processes.
- Support business owners to oversee the full lifecycle of master data (creation to retirement).
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure SLAs, upgrades, and operational support for the MDM platform.
Team Leadership & Growth
- Build, lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data and analytics team.
- Foster a collaborative, impact and value-driven culture, ensuring that analytics capabilities overtly support strategic business goals.
- Promote continuous learning and skill development across the data and analytics teams.
Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Translate data strategy into executable roadmaps and oversee projects and programs delivery.
- Manage cross-functional planning teams and ensure efficient execution across initiatives.
- Lead budgeting, resource planning, and demand management for the Data & Analytics function.
- Ensure SLA compliance, service continuity, and stakeholder communication during incidents.
- Contribute to IT Service Catalog and support service introduction and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with other IT functions ( integrations, architecture, others) to deliver benefits to organization
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience
- 15+ years of relevant experience, including 10+ years in senior leadership roles focused on data, analytics, and master data.
- Proven track record managing large, global teams (100+ people), including internal and external partners.
- Experience driving enterprise-scale data and analytics transformations
- Experience with setting up corporate Master Data governance and standardization
- Strong background in advanced analytics, including experience with AI/ML, predictive modelling.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business.
- Experience working with Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Python etc.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure the creation of real-time dashboards and self-service analytics in Power BI to empower teams with data insights.
