We are looking for a Director of Data Platform to lead our data transformation and innovation. This is a critical role for us, as it is focused on building and scaling the core data infrastructure that drives our business forward. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing and managing scalable, highly available data platforms and a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Your main responsibilities:
Director of Data Platform is responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of our data platform initiatives. Primary focus will be to lead the transformation of our existing platform to increase analytical productivity and democratize data insights, including:
- Leading a data platform transformation program to increase analytical productivity and democratize data insights. This includes introducing self-service tools for non-technical users, creating a robust semantic data layer, and establishing solid data foundations
- Ensuring the scalability and reliability of our data platform. You will be the architect of a highly available, state-of-the-art data platform for our organization, ensuring it meets the growing demands of data processing, analytics, and insights generation
- Managing technology and architecture, including building internal tooling and systems that enhance platform efficiency and user experience
- Overseeing the budget for our public cloud infrastructure, focusing on optimizing costs while maintaining high performance and reliability
- Driving Data Productivity and Democratization
Lead a transformative, AI-powered initiative to increase analytical productivity. This includes fostering an org-wide self-service culture with tools for non-technical users, developing a semantic data layer for business-friendly insights, and establishing next-gen data governance to ensure data is documented, high-quality, and easily findable - Platform Management and Technical Vision
Ensure the data platform is scalable, reliable, and state-of-the-art. This involves overseeing the technical architecture, building internal tooling, core foundations for AI initiatives and managing the public cloud budget to optimize costs without compromising performance - Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
Serve as a key partner to all business units, fostering strong relationships and acting as the primary point of contact for data platform needs. This role requires effectively communicating the platform's roadmap and value proposition to stakeholders and senior leadership - Team Leadership and Development
Lead and grow a team consisting of three product domains. This involves fostering a culture of innovation, mentoring team members, and ensuring their goals align with the company's broader data strategy. Provide hands-on leadership to the development and product teams, setting clear business directions and priorities - Data/AI Governance
Ensure working processes to assure compliance of data/AI related operations aligned with internal & external requirements
