How do we work?
As a member of the Platform Engineering team at OANDA, you are responsible for providing the infrastructure to efficiently and reliably serve our applications to OANDA customers. You will work with other technical and non-technical teams within OANDA and manage the underlying hardware and operating systems to deliver a high-availability, fault-tolerant global platform spanning on-premise and multi-cloud environments. In addition, you will provide a platform for application delivery based on modern orchestration and automation tools to enable the product development teams to quickly and safely deploy, while ensuring continued adherence to OANDA’s security and engineering standards.
In this role you will:
- Manage and optimize our MetaTrader and Windows environment, focusing on automation and tooling.
- Ensure the high availability and fault tolerance of our on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
- Work with modern orchestration and automation tools to enable rapid and secure application deployment.
- Participate in on-call and triage rotations to maintain platform stability.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana).
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and ensure adherence to security principles.
- Create clear and concise technical documentation.
- Actively participate in team processes, retrospectives, and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior team members and evaluate new candidates in the interview process.
What skillset you need to be successful in this role:
- 3-6 years of experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of both on-premise and cloud technologies
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory
- Ansible (automating Windows tasks)
- Terraform
- Google Cloud Platform
- CI/CD Systems (Atlantis & CircleCI)
- Linux systems administration (Red Hat & Debian)
- Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
