We’re looking for an Internal Community Manager to join the API Engineering team and help cultivate a thriving, engaged engineering community across. Your mission is to foster strong connections between engineering teams, drive adoption of platform tooling (like the Internal Developer Platform and shared APIs), and champion a culture of communication, learning, and continuous improvement.
This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, communication, and change enablement — ideal for someone who understands how engineers work and can help them work better, together.
Key Responsibilities:
● Build and grow the internal engineering community around platform tools, APIs, and best practices.
● Act as the voice of the developer — gathering feedback, identifying friction points, and working with product and engineering to improve the platform experience.
● Create and maintain clear, engaging internal-facing content (e.g., documentation, newsletters, platform updates, how-to guides, onboarding materials).
● Host, organize and facilitate platform-focused events such as office hours, workshops, demos, and internal tech talks.
● Collaborate with platform product owners, DevOps, and developer enablement teams to support adoption and onboarding to internal platform tooling.
● Track engagement and satisfaction, and use data to recommend improvements to platform communications, documentation, and support mechanisms.
● Maintain and moderate internal collaboration spaces (Slack channels, Confluence pages, internal forums, google groups) to encourage knowledge sharing and community contributions.
Required Skills and Experience:
● Experience working in or alongside engineering or developer-facing teams in a community, communications, developer experience, or product enablement role.
● Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible, engaging content.
● Strong organizational skills and comfort running programs or coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
● Familiarity with engineering tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD, APIs, cloud services).
● Passion for empowering developers, building community, and improving internal tools and processes.
Desirable:
● Experience in internal developer platforms (IDP), SDLC, or DevOps cultures.
● Previous experience in internal communications, change management, or technical training.
● Familiarity with GenAI tools and their application in developer support or content automation.
● Experience organizing internal developer engagement initiatives or enablement programs.
