We are looking for a Head of Issuing. This role is responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing our card issuance business within the intersection. The objective is to craft and execute a product strategy that drives revenue growth, maintains cost efficiency, and establishes a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in card issuing.
- Strong understanding of card economics, interchange models, and cost structures.
- Experience working with Visa/Mastercard and processors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and make strategic trade-offs across revenue and cost levers.
- Strong grasp of risk, compliance, and KYC/AML frameworks in card issuing.
- Analytical mindset.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial attitude with a drive to build and scale products in a lean environment.
Responsibilities
- P&L Ownership: Full responsibility for the revenue and cost side of the card issuing business, including pricing, interchange, processing fees and rewards.
- Issuing Strategy: Define and execute the strategy for which types of cards (debit, prepaid, virtual, physical) to issue and to whom.
- Product Design & Roadmap: Collaborate with product, tech, operations and compliance teams to design and launch new card products and features that meet business and user needs.
- Customer Segmentation: Analyze market and customer data to identify the most profitable and strategic segments to target for issuance.
- Partnership Management: Build and manage relationships with card networks and other ecosystem partners.
- Risk & Compliance Oversight: Work closely with compliance and risk teams to ensure all issuing activities meet regulatory and internal risk requirements.
- Data & Reporting: Monitor KPIs, card usage patterns, acquisition costs, and lifecycle performance to optimize business outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with teams across marketing, engineering, legal, operations, and finance to drive go-to-market strategies and ongoing improvements.
