Job Description
Job Purpose:The Firmware Engineering Intern will validate firmware for the transport domain, focusing on NVMe and PCIe transport layer integration within Solidigm's advanced SSD solutions. This role ensures compliance with industry specifications, particularly the NVMe standard and PCIe interface, while optimizing storage device performance. By contributing to the development and validation of cutting-edge SSD firmware, the intern will support Solidigm's mission to deliver exceptional user experiences and expand the adoption of NAND and SSD technologies into emerging market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop and execute firmware validation tests to ensure products meet or exceed requirements.
- Proactively identify bugs and firmware issues, documenting them for resolution.
- Write, modify, and execute automated testing scripts using Python and follow coding best practices.
- Support broader engineering teams in reviewing and integrating new firmware features.
- Maintain and manage version control workflows using GIT.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss testing results and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
- Engage in self-directed learning to stay up-to-date with cutting-edge SSD, NVMe, PCIe, and firmware-related technologies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or related field and maintaining student status throughout the internship.
- Proficiency in Python with solid knowledge of coding best practices.
- Strong understanding of GIT version control systems.
- Effective communication skills in English and ability to work collaboratively within teams.
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new technologies.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of C programming languages.
- Familiarity with solid-state drive technologies or firmware development.
- Hands-on experience in automation tools for testing.
Working Conditions:
This role is hybrid, combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility and standard working hours. Occasional travel may be required for hands-on activities or team collaboration at Solidigm's office locations.
