Overview of Information & Research Center and Role:
The Information and Research Assistant is a new role within the European Information and Research Centre (IRC). We deliver impact by providing our consultants and clients with top quality information/data to feed into their analyses and recommendations. Reporting to the Senior Information and Research Specialist – Europe, the role will support the current team with vital operational tasks as well as engaging in active research activities which support our work product
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage access to research tools and databases (e.g. S&P Capital IQ, Factiva, Grata, FT, Cortellis) for new joiners, leavers, and internal transfers
- Troubleshoot access issues and provide basic training or guidance on using research tools
- Act as a key point of contact for internal teams regarding access, tool usage, and research-related questions
- Monitor research tool usage, identify trends, and escalate if further training or communication is needed
- Process and track invoices related to research subscriptions (coding, submission, follow-up with Finance)
- Maintain internal knowledge resources - update intranet pages (SharePoint), upload materials, and ensure content is current
- Support in managing the life cycle of subscriptions (renewals, cost tracking, vendor communication)
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and collaborate with other departments to enhance efficiency
- Occasionally support the wider Information & Research Centre (IRC) team in executing research tasks or providing guidance
- Stay up to date with developments in AI tools and techniques that could enhance internal research processes
Essential Requirements
- 1-2 years of administrative or office experience, ideally in a corporate or professional services environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and SharePoint
- Familiarity with invoice processing or finance-related admin work
- Comfortable managing accesses and working with digital platforms/tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal) in English
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to change
- Previous experience publishing or maintaining content on intranet platforms
Desirable:
- Experience working with research tools or databases (e.g. Statista, S&P IQ, Factiva)
- Understanding of how research supports business decision-making
- Interest in AI, data analysis, and/or modern research methodologies
