Sustainable Energy Engineer (Thermal Energy / District Heating)

Your new role
As a Sustainable Energy Engineer at Ramboll, you will be part of team dedicated to driving the energy transition and designing low-carbon, future-ready energy systems. You will work on innovative projects related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, thermal energy systems including district heating and combined heat and power (CHP), and integrated energy planning. Your role involves developing technical solutions, conducting energy system analyses, and supporting public and private clients in reaching their climate and sustainability goals. You will collaborate across markets and borders to deliver high-impact, sustainable energy infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Working with senior consultants in technical projects.
- Ensuring that sustainability, safety, and compliance are integral to all project stages.
- Supporting decarbonization and modernization of thermal energy infrastructure
- Working on low-carbon heat generation technologies and thermal energy supply strategies
- Conduct feasibility studies, energy modelling, and techno-economic analyses.
- Design and optimize sustainable energy systems.
- Working on conceptual and feasibility studies for district heating systems, CHP plants, power plants, and energy transformation technologies (e.g. heat pumps, energy storage, PtX, biogas)
- Preparing technical documentation and work with permit and design processes.
- Support the integration of energy solutions in urban development and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborating with experts across disciplines to deliver sustainable energy solutions.
Your profile
- A university degree (MSc or BSc) in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the energy sector – e.g. district heating, thermal generation, renewables, or energy consulting
- Solid understanding of sustainable energy systems.
- Experience working with technical documentation and energy modelling.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (especially Excel); knowledge of Thermoflex, AutoCAD is welcome.
- Communicative in English (minimum B2); Polish language skills are required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
