Staff Software Engineer – BCDR (Linux / PHP / Kubernetes)
About the Role
Kaseya’s BCDR (Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery) team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help design and build resilient, scalable systems that power our backup and disaster recovery platform used by thousands of MSPs globally.
This is a high-impact technical leadership role for an engineer who lives and breathes Linux, understands backend architecture, and is excited about containerization, cloud-native design, and building reliable distributed systems.
What You’ll Do

Architect and implement backend systems that support backup and disaster recovery workflows

Own the full lifecycle of services: design, implement, deploy, monitor, and improve

Lead technical direction and mentor engineers across the team

Work closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy services into Kubernetes

Design performant MySQL database structures and queries

Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Product, and Customer Success teams
What We’re Looking For

Expertise in Linux: Command line is second nature to you — it’s part of your DNA

Strong backend skills: PHP preferred, but Java or Go engineers with strong fundamentals welcome

Experience with MySQL: Schema design, query optimization, replication

Containerization knowledge: Docker & Kubernetes in production environments

Engineering leadership: You’ve led complex technical initiatives and mentored others

Strong understanding of system architecture, API design, and reliability best practices
Nice to Have

Experience with Go (used in our future-state architecture)

Experience in SaaS and high-availability systems

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure
