East Europe is part of EMEA RBU and is a sustainably growing region for IQVIA, with an innovative team of ~500 people. East Europe Commercial organization comprises 16 countries and 18 locations across the region providing a multitude of IQVIA’s solutions to over 200 clients and serving a population of ~300m people.
Along with the rest of IQVIA, much of the business is with Life Science companies but also working directly with Public Health organizations, Governments, and health systems (hospitals, payers etc.) with a view to proactively supporting and improving patients’ lives.
The role purpose
Leads Finance function of IQVIA East Europe, provides guidance and direction to Finance Directors who sit in their countries, reporting to country GMs. Works to achieve the organization's operational and financial goals. Controls, directs, and participates in the activities of the organization through finance partnering. Undertakes short mid and long-term strategic planning; oversees day-to-day finance operations; partnering with business leaders across East Europe to ensure revenue, EBITDA, operational excellence targets and other business objectives are achieved oversees the delivery and implementation of strategic initiatives.
The role reports to the SVP and GM East Europe, Russia, CIS and dotted lined to the SVP EMEA Finance . The role has 2 direct reports, however, within strong dotted line reporting from 4 FDs in the region.
The role is preferably based in Warsaw, Poland.
Key accountabilities:
Own East Europe P&L and delivers financial target in line with plan.
Drives profitability and growth of the organization’s business and operations.
Works collaboratively with East Europe leadership team to ensure proper communication, information sharing, discussion of issues, and problem resolution, when appropriate.
Leading the finance function, including managing team performance and professional development
Delivering end to end financial planning and forecasting.
Working closely with commercial teams on in quarter revenue and EBITDA landing position
Providing timely and insightful analysis of financial performance to inform and influence decision making.
Identifying risks and opportunities and recommending corrective actions.
Leading initiatives aimed at maximizing cashflow by minimizing overdue invoices, unbilled receivables to drive DSO improvement.
Supporting the SVP and GMs of East Europe and EE Leadership Team in business reviews.
Collaborating cross functionally, as required, to win new business/retain existing business.
Providing input into M&A activities as needed, including integration of acquired entities.
Supporting the business to make capital allocation decisions, including investment appraisal, making trade-offs between investments, and tracking investment performance.
Streamlining financial activities and procedures to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
Representing the finance function in cross functional initiatives, within the East Europe cluster and EMEA, and providing leadership to deliver results. May represent EMEA finance on global finance initiatives as required.
Ensuring compliance with financial processes and policies and internal controls.
Ensuring compliance with local regulations, including, but not limited to, statutory filings and tax compliance across the EE countries.
Interaction with internal and external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Acting as OPEX champion and represents EE for EMEA OPEX champion’ community.
Key experience, skills, competencies:
Qualified (professionally certified) accountant with minimum of twelve (12) years post qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Must be IT literate, preferably with experience of SAP and Hyperion.
Oral and written fluency in English.
Proven track-record in leading finance function in big and complex organization.
Ability to quickly adapt to working standards, tools and systems.
Strong analytical skills, proven ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
