We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in Python to lead the quality assurance efforts for the project.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of QA activities for a Scrum team, focusing primarily on API testing, functional testing for conversational bots, and ensuring that the delivered products meet high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive test strategy to guide QA efforts
- Ensure test coverage by reviewing project requirements and relevant documentation
- Lead and mentor one AQA middle/junior team member to ensure efficient results
- Oversee functional testing for conversational bots, APIs, and integration workflows
- Support the team with setup and teardown of test environments and debug issues effectively
- Design and organize test cases, track progress, and ensure completion of testing activities
- Create and maintain test documentation, including checklists, test plans, and reports
- Evaluate requirements and provide accurate testing effort estimations
- Collaborate with engineers to offer practical solutions for addressing system quality gaps
- Represent QA in meetings and present insights on quality aspects to VP-level stakeholders
- Serve as the primary QA owner for the Scrum team to ensure product compliance with requirements
Requirements
- Background with at least 2+ years in an AQA lead role or as a key tester guiding team members
- Knowledge of automation with TypeScript and testing frameworks like Mocha, Jasmine, or Jest
- Proficiency in manual QA practices, including maintaining documentation like test plans and reports
- Familiarity with functional testing for bots, including intent, slot, and dialog flow testing
- Understanding of non-functional testing aspects such as localization, usability, and accessibility
- Capability to conduct API and integration testing effectively
- Knowledge of SQL databases and experience with tools like JIRA (Test Management for JIRA) and Report Portal
- Showcase of strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and quality focus
- Competency in communicating QA updates and discussions with VP-level stakeholders
- Active participation in cross-functional meetings to represent the QA perspective
