We are looking for an engineer in industrial robotic software automation (robot arms such as KUKA robots) who take part in the development of an advanced robotic arm capable of playing air hockey autonomously. You will work on the cutting edge of robotics, leveraging ROS 2 to design, build, and optimize a fast, reactive, and intelligent robotic system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement real-time control algorithms for a robotic manipulator using ROS 2.
- Integrate sensors (e.g., cameras, LIDAR, encoders) for object tracking and environment perception.
- Develop trajectory planning and motion control for high-speed, accurate interactions.
- Build robust communication between hardware components using ROS 2 nodes and topics.
- Optimize system performance to minimize latency and increase prediction/reaction speed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with ROS 2 (nav2, MoveIt 2, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python in robotics applications.
- Solid understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and control theory.
- Experience with robotic manipulators, servo/motor control, and real-time systems.
- Familiarity with computer vision (OpenCV, YOLO, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work on high-speed robotic systems or interactive robotic games.
- Experience with AI/ML techniques for real-time decision making.
- Background in mechatronics or embedded systems.
