Senior Product Designer
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer!
A Senior Product Designer is responsible for leading the design and enhancement of user interfaces and experiences with a high degree of autonomy. This role emphasizes Human-Centered Design (HCD) methodology to ensure that user needs are at the forefront of the design process. The Senior Product Designer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and user-centric designs that align with business goals and drive strategic initiatives. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and leading junior, mid-level, designers and influencing design culture across the platform
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of user interfaces and experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and accessible.
- Oversee the design of components for larger systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
- Lead design standards and best practices for the Platform or Division based on guidance from the Distinguished Designer and Principal & Lead Designers.
Human-Centered Design:
- Apply HCD principles to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points through comprehensive research and user testing.
- Conduct advanced user experience analysis and integrate findings into strategic design solutions.
Prototyping and Testing:
- Create low, medium and high-fidelity prototypes and conduct various methods of User Research to iterate on designs based on user feedback and industry best practices.
- Utilize rapid and advanced prototyping techniques to demonstrate design concepts and validate solutions.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to deliver cohesive and user-centric designs, promoting consistency and reusability of components.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with product users and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment.
Learning and Growth:
- Continuously enhance design skills and stay updated with the latest design tools and methodologies, including exploring opportunities to use AI to streamline design processes.
- Work to understand the business unit and processes associated with the digital product.
- Apply modern design standards and best practices to all projects and mentor junior designers.
Product Strategy:
- Lead the implementation of the design strategy for the product to ensure the customer and their needs are at the center, while taking technical feasibility and business viability into consideration.
- Manage and prioritize the design backlog to achieve the product vision and aligned strategy.
Product Discovery & Delivery:
- Create comprehensive design artifacts to clarify user needs and requirements.
- Monitor user feedback and metrics, and present to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and deliver more business value.
Design Support:
- Lead design iterations following user research findings and prioritize improvements.
- Work closely with Developers to provide what they may need to develop solutions to design specifications.
Workshop Facilitation:
- Conduct Design Workshops: Organize and facilitate design workshops to encourage team collaboration and co-creation.
- Engage Stakeholders: Conduct workshops with stakeholders to gather feedback, validate design concepts, and ensure alignment with project goals.
WHO YOU ARE:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in product design.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD).
- Strong user research and usability testing skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to create low, medium, and high-fidelity prototypes and influence appropriate level of fidelity with stakeholders
- Deep understanding of Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles.
- Familiarity with modern design standards, Agile environments, and the Product Development Lifecycle.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements.
- Experience in leading component design for larger systems and ensuring consistency across products.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor junior designers.
Preferred:
- Extensive experience with Design Thinking and Human Centered Design.
- Proficiency in managing design systems.
- Knowledge of front-end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with accessibility standards.
- Experience with Chromatic or Storybook
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Creativity, continuous learning, and an experimental mindset.
- Experience with rapid and advanced prototyping techniques.
- Ability to explore and utilize AI tools to streamline design processes.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
