Job Description:
Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a talented Senior Online Programmer to join our team and help shape the foundation of our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP.
You will drive innovation developing the multiplayer components of our engine and workflows, focusing on performance, scalability, and rapid iteration. You will collaborate with gameplay and design teams in order to push boundaries of what’s possible in online games.

You’ll help us…
- Architect and implement high performance network code solutions for client and server game logic
- Develop networking code to interact with backend systems and online services
- Partner with the engineering and design teams to build networked gameplay systems
- Optimize and debug game network traffic
- Provide insight and mentorship to gameplay engineering teams on best practices for use of online systems you build and support
You’re awesome because you have…
- Excellent C++ programming skills - at least 5 years experience in networked games or equivalent.
- Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills within a networked environment.
- A proven track record of contributing to at least one shipped AAA game.
- Experience in other areas of video game technology.
- Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and network protocol design/implementation
- Proficiency in database modeling and access libraries
- Experience with instrumentation and telemetry
Bonus points for…
- Experience with multi-platform development, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
- Experience in building backend services for videogames or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills and experience coordinating with distributed development studios
- Experience with live ops development and operation
- Experience with gameplay networking techniques.
