Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and re-pair of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
Investigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution.
Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction.
Participate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs.
Submit completed, detailed, and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
Qualifications
Associate degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant experience OR a combination of 7 years of military education/experience required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field and 3 years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
Previous experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.
Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.
Ability to travel up to 80% or more of the time and maintain a valid driver's license
