Develops and executes category plans to drive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, supplier service levels, coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payments and risk mitigation. Executes category sourcing strategies including development and implementation of RFIs and RFPs, selection criteria, supplier negotiation and ongoing supplier management. Engages with operations, production, sales and other cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing alignment and support of category management or new product introduction goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategy for less complex categories based on financial expectations, category role, category performance, product trends, competitive landscape and DN differentiators
- Contributes to total cost analyses and ensuring their understanding / acceptance by the team
- Supports initial and annual price negotiation strategy development and execution, ensuring total costs are evaluated and documented appropriately for each award
- Conducts negotiations, leveraging advanced negotiating capabilities to successfully achieve desired business outcomes
- Gathers and analyzes supplier performance data, contributing to development of annual supplier ratings and associated performance assessments
- Develops data-driven insights, defining and communicating supplier performance improvement recommendations
- Follows through on approved recommendations, ensuring supplier understanding and monitoring implementation and outcomes
- Assesses performance deficiencies, resolving or escalating appropriately
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Category Management
- Good business English skills (Written and spoken)
