We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Application Support Engineer to join our team and play a key role in providing technical expertise and advanced troubleshooting for critical applications. As a senior member of the team, you will tackle complex issues, ensure the seamless functioning of applications, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced Level 3 (L3) application support and expertise for resolving challenging technical issues
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents involving Perl, Core Java, Python, PowerShell, and SQL
- Manage application environments on Linux systems with a strong understanding of RDBMS concepts
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance workflows scheduled and managed via AutoSys
- Configure and optimize continuous delivery and deployment pipelines in GitLab using tools like Maven or Gradle
- Utilize tools such as Jira, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, and Confluence to track issues, share knowledge, and streamline processes
- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams using Agile methodologies to ensure effective issue resolution
- Identify patterns in recurring system problems and propose permanent solutions for long-term stability
- Provide support for business-critical applications in the financial domain, ensuring minimal downtime and high reliability
- Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of knowledge base documentation for efficient knowledge sharing
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in application support with a proven track record in delivering L3 support
- Proficiency in Perl, Linux systems, and AutoSys
- Competency in using scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Core Java to streamline processes and solve issues
- Expertise in database systems with extensive skills in SQL and RDBMS concepts
- Working knowledge of tools including Jira, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, Confluence, and Maven
- Familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines and build tools such as Maven and Gradle
- Background in supporting applications within the financial domain or similar highly regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting abilities with an in-depth understanding of system architecture and network configurations
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide clear issue resolutions
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams following Agile methodologies
- English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Eze Castle, Front Arena, or Geneva
- Experience with Apache Maven, Atlassian Jira, or Confluence Cloud
- Showcase of working knowledge in GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Background in Java Core and scripting with PowerShell or Python
