The Opportunity:
UST is seeking a highly skilled SystemC Modeling Engineer to support our RANS (Radio Access Network Software) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis of SoC components used in telecom and 5G/6G infrastructure.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cycle-accurate and transaction-level SystemC/TLM models of complex hardware subsystems
- Collaborate with architecture and hardware teams to create executable models for early software development and performance validation
- Integrate virtual platform models with firmware and driver stacks
- Simulate and validate functional correctness of SystemC models against hardware specifications
- Drive model optimization for simulation performance, accuracy, and reusability
- Support software and validation teams with model-based debugging, testing, and prototyping
- Document model interfaces, behavior, assumptions, and limitations
- Contribute to CI/CD systems for model build, test, and deployment
- Participate in customer engagements and support pre-silicon validation or co-design efforts
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in SystemC modeling, TLM 2.0, and virtual platform development
- Strong understanding of SoC components: CPU subsystems, interconnects, memory controllers, DMA, PCIe, etc.
- Experience integrating models into simulation frameworks (e.g., Synopsys Virtualizer, Imperas, QEMU hybrid flows)
- Proficiency in C++11/14 and object-oriented design patterns
- Experience with debugging and performance tuning of simulation environments
- Working knowledge of embedded software stacks (bootloaders, drivers)
- Familiarity with UVM/System Verilog testbenches is a plus
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting RAN applications or telecom platforms
- Knowledge of ARM/MIPS processor architectures
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with RTL verification and hardware/software co-simulation
- Exposure to Agile development, Jira, Git, and CI/CD tools
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
