An Operating Model Lead in cybersecurity is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the framework that defines how cybersecurity functions are structured, managed, and executed within an organization. Their role ensures that cybersecurity strategies align with business objectives, are efficient, and adapt to evolving threats.
How you will make an impact:
· Define the Cybersecurity Operating Model : Develop a framework outlining how cybersecurity processes, people, and technology interact. This includes defining roles, responsibilities, governance structures, and workflows to ensure effective risk management and compliance.
· Align Cybersecurity with Business Goals : Collaborate with business leaders to ensure the cybersecurity operating model supports organizational objectives, balancing security needs with operational efficiency.
· Process Optimization : Streamline cybersecurity processes (e.g., incident response, vulnerability management, threat monitoring) to improve efficiency, reduce redundancies, and enhance response times.
· Governance and Policies : Establish policies, standards, and procedures to guide cybersecurity operations, ensuring compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, NIST) and industry best practices.
· Technology Integration : Work with IT and security teams to integrate tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IAM solutions) into the operating model, ensuring seamless operation and scalability.
· Change Management : Lead efforts to implement or transform the cybersecurity operating model, including training teams, managing cultural shifts, and ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
· Performance Monitoring : Define and track KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the cybersecurity operating model, identifying areas for improvement.
· Stakeholder Collaboration : Act as a bridge between cybersecurity teams, IT, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Your background:
o Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
o Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, penetration testing, and product security
o Understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploits
o Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, C# or C++
o Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, and Nessus
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
