Our teams of technical experts specialize in harnessing live sporting data, using advanced cloud technologies, Java, JavaScript and Python. It is these tech teams that enable us to extract patterns through AI and Machine Learning and deliver our insights via APIs. In short, they turn complex data into magical experiences with cutting-edge technology.
We are looking for MySQL Database Engineer, who is going to lead projects within our database team on designing, optimizaton and managing critical database systems. You will be heavily working with MySQL, Redshift and other open-source and cloud database solutions to drive performance and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and manage on-premises and cloud database environments to ensure robust performance.
- Optimize database performance, security, and availability across large-scale systems.
- Collaborate with service operations to prototype solutions that improve reliability.
- Automate repetitive tasks with Python or Shell scripting.
- Build best practices for MySQL, Redshift, and PostgreSQL, staying updated with cloud and open-source advances.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in database architecture, administration, and tuning for critical systems.
- Working knowledge of MySQL and potentially others like Oracle, PostgreSQL and others.
- Strong Linux skills for database support.
- Proficiency in Shell or Python scripting.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Interest in learning new database technologies, tools, and practices.
- Familiarity with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins.
