We are looking for an experienced Machine Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of production equipment for high-volume, automated manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, automation, and project management, with a hands-on approach to machine specification, supplier collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Specify, validate, and manage production equipment designs
- Lead machine projects, coordinating with suppliers
- Draft technical specifications, participate in supplier selection and negotiations
- Validate supplier designs, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and CE requirements
- Oversee machine construction, conducting provisional and final acceptance tests both at supplier sites and on-site (Run-off, R&R, checklists)
- Provide technical support during commissioning, first-part production, and process development with factory teams
- Carry out debugging and process improvement actions (improvement of new equipment, modification of machines in serial production, etc.)
- Drive innovation in machine design to improve performance and cost-efficiency
- Train and support suppliers
- Participated in failure analysis, 8D, quality and safety
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Automation
- Minimum 5 years in industrial/manufacturing roles (automotive industry preferred)
- Experience in battery pack assembly industrialization preferred
- Experience with high-volume, automated machinery
- Battery pack assembly experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of automation, mechanical systems, electrical components, CE regulations, and machine safety
- Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Familiar with machine FMEA, DFM/A, 8D problem solving, lean manufacturing, ergonomics, and process capability analysis
- English at B1 level or higher
- Proficient in MS Office tools
