Danske Bank is looking for a Poland-based team leader for our 1 st Line Financial Crime Risk Assessments team. As our new team leader, you will be the direct manager of our Financial Crime Operational Risk Assessments team, and furthermore the administrative manager of Poland-based employees in wider Risk Assessment teams.
The tasks of the Operational Risk Assessments team include being the first-line subject matter experts on risk assessments including the Risks and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA), New and Amended Product Assessment (NAPA), and Financial Crime Control Self Assessments (FC CSA).
Your role in the team
This role involves leading a team to maintain motivation, meet short-term goals, and support long-term development, while also acting as the first point of escalation for team and stakeholder queries. Additionally, the role requires building expertise in RCSA, NAPA, and CSA risk assessments.
Key responsibilities:
- Promote motivation and ensure the team stays on track with deliverables and development.
- Act as the primary escalation point for team and stakeholder questions or challenges.
- Develop expertise to serve as the knowledge lead for RCSA, NAPA, and CSA risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with the head of 1st Line FC Risk Assessments and the head of 1st Line FC Business Risk Management and Advisory based in Warsaw. Work from the Warsaw office at least three days a week to enhance team collaboration.

Our expectation is for the leader to possess strong and effective planning and prioritising skills, along with a proactive and collaborative mindset. They should be adept at guiding and supporting others, communicating effectively, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. A commitment to high-quality deliverables and a genuine interest in continuous learning and improvement are essential.
Other skills that we expect:
- +5 years experience and good working knowledge of Financial Crime risks and/or controls
- Leadership and strong practical experience from formal or informal leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, including offering advice and guidance to stakeholders.
- Experience running established processes in collaboration and coordination with others.
- Understanding of financial services and banking industry processes. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Beneficial qualifications / skills:
- Experience providing written and verbal narratives for at least one of: enterprise-level risk assessments, internal/external audits, regulatory authorities, or other control functions.
- Experience producing quality dashboards, PowerPoints, etc. for senior management. Experience working with additional financial crime risks besides ML/TF.
