The Head of External Manufacturing EMEA (CMO / CDMO) is responsible for leading FMC’s external Formulation & Packaging (F&P) operations across the EMEA region, with a strong focus on operational improvement, technical excellence, and strategic expansion. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and cost-effective toll manufacturing that supports regional supply chain and business objectives, while driving continuous improvement and innovation.
As a key member of the EMEA ISC Leadership Team, the Contract Manufacturing Manager oversees manufacturing performance across a diverse network of third-party sites, ensuring delivery against KPIs, launching new products, and expanding capabilities to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Contract Manufacturing Coordinators and Label Specialists across the region.
- Oversee safe, compliant, and cost-effective formulation, packaging, and relabelling operations at 25+ third-party sites.
- Drive operations improvement initiatives focused on quality, technical performance, and productivity.
- Oversee the introduction of new products into external manufacturing sites, ensuring timely and successful launches.
- Monitor and manage manufacturing KPIs, identifying and resolving performance gaps.
- Partner with Procurement, Quality, Planning, Finance, and Technical teams to optimize supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in S&OP processes to ensure external manufacturing activities with regional supply and inventory plans.
- Be the interface with other leaders in Supply Chain, Operation and Commercial to escalate, prioritize and resolve issues related the tolling network.
- Manage team resources, staffing, and training to ensure business continuity and capability development.
- Develop and oversee the contract manufacturing operations budget, identifying cost-saving saving and productivity opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in production, supply chain, contract manufacturing
- Proven experience managing external manufacturing operations, ideally within regulated or chemical industries.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of driving operational excellence.
- Knowledge in SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of regulatory and logistics requirements for crop protection products is advantageous.
