We are looking for a talented Data Software Engineer with Scala expertise to join our fast-paced and collaborative team.
In this role, you will design and maintain scalable and reliable data solutions, leveraging modern technologies to create impactful outcomes that drive business success.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring presence in the EPAM Krakow office 2-3 times per week and periodic travel to the Client’s Warsaw office 4 times a year for planning sessions. The role requires working hours to overlap with the Pacific Time Zone, with availability needed until 10:00 AM PST (7:00 PM CET).
Responsibilities
- Drive system development and maintenance to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions
- Support code versioning and oversee deployments for data pipelines
- Ensure robust unit test coverage and provide integration and performance testing support
- Contribute innovative ideas toward enhancing standards and processes
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to improve existing solutions
- Develop expertise in data handling and take ownership of data quality within assigned areas
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Scala development
- 2+ years of proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, capable of handling both structured and unstructured data
- 1+ years of extensive expertise with Spark Processing engine
- 1+ years of working experience with Big Data tools/technologies/streaming platforms such as Hive, Impala, Oozie, Airflow, NiFi, Kafka
- 1+ years of experience in Data Modeling
- Understanding of identifying opportunities and addressing gaps through data analysis
- Experience leveraging cloud or on-prem Big Data platforms including tools like Netezza, Teradata, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Warehouse or similar
