The mission of the Accounts Payable Supervisor is to ensure that resources are optimized to process invoices in a timely and accurate manner – in compliance with Stryker policies and any applicable laws and regulations. In this role, you will coordinate your team resources while maintaining the team motivated and engaged to perform successfully. You will be the process SME supporting the team, developing their process knowledge and guiding them through complex cases. You will also set daily objectives, prioritize and allocate the work among the team members to ensure SLA’s are met or exceeded.
Key Activities & Accountabilities:
- Supervisory responsibilities of a team ranging from 7+ direct reports in AP
- Leads the day-to-day operation of the AP service delivery team, setting individual and team objectives, prioritizing work and optimizing resources to meet or exceed SLA’s
- Supports the team as the process SME to develop the staff process knowledge, providing guidance when working through complex cases
- Ensures compliance of activities performed by the team (policies, internal controls, etc.)
- Supports staff resource planning, organizing and monitoring of key processes including: assisting in hiring, training, evaluating staff and taking actions to address performance matters
People Management:
- Leads and develops the team
- Drives improvements in employee engagement (Q12)
- Ensures that relevant information is communicated to direct reports enabling them to effectively carry out their functions
- Delegates tasks in line with skill, knowledge, and ability, where necessary (together with the Manager) identifies skill gaps and training requirements
- Handles personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, etc.
Experience & Education:
- 2 - 4 years of work experience in AP and 1 year in AP supervisor or AP team lead position
- Degree in Business and Administration, Accounting or similar level gained by experience
- Professional certification in accounting (CPA or equivalent) preferred
- Fluent in English
- Preferably familiar with USGAAP or IFRS
- Good knowledge of internal control concepts. Having SOX control experience is desirable
- Good working knowledge of SAP, MfgPro or any other ERPs
