Division: GDC
In order to provide business services to our clients, Euroclear is using the SWIFT network and hosts Swift infrastructure to exchange business data (messages, files and screen based data) with clients, financial market institutions (such as LCH/Clearnet, BoE and Central Banks) and global market infrastructure systems (such as ESMIG).
Euroclear acts both as a service provider over SWIFT to its clients, as well as a client of services published by SWIFT.
The Swift engineering team is in charge of the configuration, maintenance and support of the Swift applications (such as Swift Alliance Gateway (SAG), Swift Alliance Access (SAA), Client Footprint (CFP), TDA, RMA and Swift security devices (HSM)), installed on our premises.
Our Swift infrastructure, running on different datacenters, provides messaging services for all entities of the Euroclear Group (EB, ESES, EUI, EFI, ESW). The volume of messages and data going though those Swift applications represents 20% of world-wide Swift message traffic.
As a consequence, key factors such as stability, security, resilience and availability are integrated into Swift Engineering Team deliverables and production support capabilities. Impact on major financial markets is high and any disruption is directly visible.
Therefore, production support service is provided on a 24/7 basis, releases are performed in the allowed maintenance windows, mainly during week-ends and resilience exercises are also performed outside business windows.
The role:
- Implementation (engineering) activities: implementation and deployment of new data flows requiring to configure the Swift Software, connecting them to back-end applications. Methodology to perform those tasks is the Agile model. All is automated via Ansible and CI/CD pipeline with Ansible Tower technology.

- Third line production support: on call support in 24/7, accepting and resolving issues following Euroclear production support SLA for critical infrastructure. This includes the creation of SWIFT cases as third line support level and the follow up on those cases (direct interaction with SWIFT) and their resolution. This service includes execution of the site SWAP and recovery exercises (RDR) on Euroclear premises.
