Security Technology Engineering develops platforms preventing attacks from accessing applications, data centres, and Internet infrastructure. Software ensures secure, efficient, and available recursive DNS edge services using a distributed, data-focused policy engine.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test. you will work with an experienced engineering team to design. develop and maintain mission critical software for Akamai's cloud-based recursive name resolution and security products. You will apply your knowledge and talents to create innovative solutions for our customers.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test Senior, you will be responsible for:
- Developing comprehensive test plans based on product/solution requirements
- Performing tests on a large-scale distributed test network to validate new and existing features
- Maintaining, enhancing, and developing test automation
- Benchmarking server metrics to ensure quality and high performance
- Investigating and analysing root causes of technical issues and performance bottlenecks
- Reviewing business needs, requirements, and technical specifications
- Analysing key performance metrics and developing thorough test reports
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 y+ of relevant experience in computer science or equivalent technical field
- Have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and test automation
- Have an understanding of network routing concepts and protocols such as DNS, HTTP/S, TLS, TCP and UDP
- Have experience in software development using object-oriented scripting languages like Python and automation tools like Ansible
- Demonstrate attention to detail and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Have testing experience with REST APIs and Graphical User Interfaces
- Be experienced in working with Linux/Unix-like operating systems
