As a DevOps Engineer at Fairmarkit, your primary focus will be to help architect, build, and maintain our Azure cloud infrastructure as we expand our primarily AWS-based environment. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to enable scalable and secure multi-cloud operations. Your experience with Azure, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tooling will be key to ensuring high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency. We are a collaborative team that values curiosity, learning, and adaptability, especially across different cloud ecosystems. While your initial emphasis will be on Azure, we expect you to actively learn and support AWS infrastructure alongside the rest of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in Azure, in alignment with Fairmarkit’s expansion strategy.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to support and improve existing AWS infrastructure.
- Build and manage Kubernetes clusters (AKS/EKS) to support scalable microservices.
- Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab CI and/or GitHub Actions.
- Define and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and cost across both Azure and AWS.
- Contribute to the setup and support of observability tools, alerting systems, and operational dashboards.
- Support platform integrations with tools like Kafka and PostgreSQL, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Implement robust security practices across cloud and containerized environments.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and incident response process.
- Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for both internal and compliance needs.
Required skills and qualifications
- 3+ years of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (AKS, IAM, Networking, Storage, etc.).
- Proficiency in Kubernetes operations and workload management.
- Solid experience with Terraform, Helm, or other IaC tools.
- Familiarity with Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc).
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an eagerness to learn.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Prior exposure to AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, etc.).
- Experience working with Kafka and PostgreSQL in production.
- Observability and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Security best practices in multi-cloud and container environments.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
