The opportunity:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a global team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining material standards.
How you'll make an impact:
As a member of an R&D international team, your responsibilities include:
- Creation of new specifications for transformers’ standard reusable accessories and components in a central data repository in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
- Contribution to 3D/2D objects approval process
- Support factories in implementation of standard reusable accessories, components and parts.
- Responsible for analysis of part’s data and attributes, classify them as per global/local repository level. Map the local standard parts to global specification and validate parameters’ values.
- Migrate and cleanse existing legacy standards to central repository of standard materials and parts
- Handle and oversee daily operational requests and providing support to users, by proper selection of classification grouping and attributes’ values for standard parts.
- Verify mapping of global standards with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality mapping of global standard parts specifications to supplier products.
- Responsible for data quality for standard transformer accessories and components.
- Works closely with other core team members to define classification structures and attributes for global standard parts different categories.
- Coordinate with stakeholders from engineering, procurement, SCM and supplier quality.
Your background:
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (4 years) or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, ANSI)
- Fluent in English, spoken and written. Excellent skills to communicate effectively with business, product owners, developers and end users from different areas (engineering, supply-chain, material planning) and different regions/cultures
- Proactive and work independently. Tasks and time self-management
- Strong analytical skills, experience in data analysis and management
- At least 3 years or more of relevant work experience in Transformer or similar industries
- Experience in PTC Windchill or other PLM software is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to learn Engineering Design tools
- Experience with ECM Process (Engineering Change Management) is a plus
- Exposure to use of 3D CAD modelling tools (e.g., Creo Parametric, Creo View) and ability to interpret 2D drawings and translate them into technical requirements
