Your role in the team
You will be part of a small quantitative analysis team in Krakow, reporting to a local manager, but you will also work very closely with the wider trading function at IG which is based in London and Melbourne. You will often work independently on problems but must be able to share solutions effectively with others. You will work primarily on problems related to pricing of markets and risk management, with the goal of revenue optimisation.
What you'll do:
Quants duties are to provide the following analytics services to trading and the wider IG business:
Undertake open-ended statistical research with the goal of improved market returns for trading area
Analyse complex real-world data problems and reduce to appropriate soluble data science problems
Support trading dept. with detailed but well-presented data visualisations and regular report
Play a leading role in specification of development work, templating solutions and elaborating requirements in contact with development teams
Perform ad hoc and time-critical queries into client or company performance for compliance, legal, business management and executives

What you’ll need for this role:
Must have experience using python for data analysis
Must have experience using SQL as a query language
Must have +2 years background in data analysis
Must have an interest in financial economics
Desirable industry experience in the financial sector
Excellent English
