Job purpose
In this role, the mechanical engineering group supervisor leads a small engineering team developing mechanical design for automotive powertrain applications.
His team is responsible for mechanical requirements analysis, design definition of all mechanical components and assemblies, creating and release of mechanical BOM structures, developing verification criteria and supporting implementation in serial production.
You will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined team, working on latest state of the art automotive powertrain electronics for battery electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid mass market.
Key responsibilities
- Lead team of mechanical engineers in Krakow site.
- Supporting hiring and interviewing candidates.
- Responsible for goal setting and performance review of direct reports.
- Manages team skillset and training matrix.
- Monitor team performance on project critical key characteristics, adjust staffing & methods to achieve goals.
- Ensure team’s process compliance: guide team in development process implementation, monitoring, and improvement.
- Interface with European hardware steering team to contribute to project assignments and resource planning.
- Support any project audits where the team is involved.
What we’re looking for
- Masters Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or an associated field.
- 5 years of experience in Automotive, preferably in electronics hardware.
- 2 years of team lead experience.
- Good Mechanical Engineering background with understanding of physics phenomenon.
- Understanding of the relationships between manufacturing processes materials, and components designs for plastic, sheet metal, and die cast parts.
- Design experience in a cost competitive automotive environment with particular focus on stringent sealing, thermal and vibration conditions.
- 3D modelling and drawings creation experience, with good understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience with DFA/DFM, DFMEA tools.
- Logical, structured approach to problem solving (using proper tools) and decision making.

- Good level of interpersonal skills and conflict management to work effectively with others.
- Good level of oral and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent time keeping and attendance record.
- Be willing to travel and work in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team spread across several locations in the world.
