Enterprise System Engineer Responsibilities:
- Build, scale, and secure environment within Meta enterprise infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment containing broad range of operating systems (Windows, Windows Server, virtualisation platforms and Linux) and applications
- Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage
- Implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented, and train others to take on operations
- Find ways to leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers
- Participate in incident root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network) and take care of most important solutions upholding best standards to maintain high reliability of managed systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in systems engineering
- 2+ years of experience automating the management of infrastructure and services
- 2+ years of experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell DSC, etc
- 2+ years of experience coding in an object oriented or function language such as: Python, Ruby, PHP, Rust, Go and PowerShell scripting (developing advanced functions & modules)
- Thorough understanding of Windows/Windows Server operating system internals
- Demonstrated experience of complete tasks and small/medium features with minimal guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting configuration management in a multi-region environment
- Prior experience building services, PaaS or internal clouds
- Prior experience with APIs to streamline administration, management, and monitoring of services
- Prior experience with Virtualisation and Application delivery solutions like Citrix etc
- Prior experience with Linux operating systems and their internals
