As a Design Engineer, you will support the design of timely, efficient, and cost-effective agricultural equipment and have specific accountability for engineering support to the Kutno and Goodfield Plant with soil preparation products. You will develop solutions and machines based on engineering knowledge with mechatronic steering systems based on GPS signal and ISOBUS system. Current & New Products in scope are seedbed & stubble cultivators, and conservation tillage machines. You will be gaining product knowledge and exposed to critical functional components of tillage equipment to comprehend and appreciate those design requirements.
As Design Engineer, you will be mainly focused on tillage equipment. Key is development of solutions for optimizing and improvement of machines performance respecting cost reduction focus. Designs must comply with Machinery Directive and Homologation requirements for various markets.
- Provide design support for manufacturing, be the first instance to resolve quality issues caused by design. Demonstrate ability to manage and complete in timely fashion either assigned or imprompt CPM projects/MFG issues.
- Specify, design, develop, coordinate, and support the definition and integration of core machine components and/or subsystems for tillage equipment consistent with program objectives inclusive of concepts, prototype support, field validation, and product launch.
- Improves current products quality to meet platform goals (Field Q&R, MFG issues, Fitness for Use, Cost Reduction).
- Cultivate working relationships and respect of MFG contacts (launch manager, manufacturing engineers, purchasing, plant quality).
- Communicate with the engineering team to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion to schedule following established design processes.
- Develop and demonstrate the ability to make sound and timely engineering judgements/decisions in MFG environment.
- Virtually design and analyze components using design tools and processes. Participate in design reviews and actively participate in Safety Analysis and DFMEA Teams.
- Provide assistance with prototype builds and engage in field operations. Develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and provide supporting documentation. Documentation will be used internally and externally. Provide necessary information to support Management milestone presentations.
- Complete test requests, resolve field product integrity reports (PIR’s), and track progress.
- Travel, as necessary, to other design centers, supplier facilities, field test locations and customer locations in order to provide support, resolve problems, explore design alternatives or conduct failure analysis.
- Master’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Agricultural or Bachelor with equivalent work experience.
- Product design and development experience.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving abilities. Failure Root-cause Analysis experience is a plus.
- Min 3 – 5 years of work experience in product development, preferably in the AG Business.
- Extensive minimum Creo 8 or other 3D CAD system experience.
- Communicative in English, minimum B2.
- Good Team Player.
- Good job organisation.
- Well-developed soft skills.
